DataPhoenix goes live!

Scattered magenta data points gathering into a teal stream that ends in a feathered wing, on navy

Hi

There is a real thirst in so many organisations to get more value from their data, and helping them do it is the work I enjoy most. I have spent my career building and running data platforms: data lakes and pipelines on AWS, the DevOps and automation around them, and the delivery discipline that gets them into production and keeps them there. That is why I am launching DataPhoenix.

The name is deliberate. Most organisations already own the data they need. It sits in silos, in exports nobody trusts, in systems that were never meant to talk to each other. The job is to bring it back to life as one governed, reliable foundation that the business can actually use. DataPhoenix is a data consultancy built to do exactly that: architecting and implementing data lakes, lake house and data mesh solutions on AWS, with the pipelines, governance and operations that make them last.

How we work matters as much as what we build. We work hands-on, inside your team rather than from a slide deck: we map how your data really flows today, propose a design you can understand and challenge, build it in your environment, and stay until it runs on its own. We prefer to start small, prove value with a real dataset, and grow the platform only when the volume and the questions justify it. Every stage adds capability and cost; it should earn its place.

The platform was never the point; the value in the data is. So the work has evolved naturally from building the foundations to putting them to use: AI readiness assessments that tell you honestly what your data can support, PII detection and masking so you can use it safely, retrieval pipelines that let a model answer from your own documents, and private model deployment when the data cannot leave your estate. More recently that has grown into agentic workflows: AI agents that do the repetitive work of a process end to end, inside a deterministic pipeline with a person deciding at the points that matter, and an engineer from us embedded with you until it runs on its own. The same discipline applies at every step: governed data first, then the intelligence on top of it, and nothing that cannot be checked.

We are working with some exceptional people who share this way of thinking and bring deep expertise in data lakes, data pipelines, AWS cloud and DevOps. Between us we have delivered for large enterprises and for start-ups, and the lesson is the same at both ends: who you are matters less than what you want to achieve and how honestly you look at your data before you commit to a platform.

So whether you are trying to make sense of the data you already have, want to integrate disparate pools of it into one trustworthy source, need the governance to put it in front of regulators and customers, or simply want to know what is possible, DataPhoenix can design and implement the right solution and hand it over working. If that sounds like the conversation you have been meaning to have, get in touch.
